ROYAL OAK BARCOMBE - XMAS MENU
is available from the 1st to the 24th of December.

Starters

Prawn cocktail: North Atlantic prawns dressed in a cocktail sauce on a bed of shredded ice-berg lettuce, served with brown bread and butter and a lemon wedge.

Roast Parsnip and Apple soup: A rich and velvety winter warmer soup served with toasted ciabatta bread and butter.

Ham Hock Terrine: Chopped ham hock in a cider and apple infused jelly served with piccalilli.

Deep-fried coated Mushrooms: Sliced and breaded cup mushrooms served with blue cheese dip.

Main Courses

Traditional Roast Turkey: Thick, moist hand carved slices of turkey breast served with pig's in blankets, sage and onion forcemeat balls, festive gravy and a choice of cranberry or bread sauce.

Roast Topside of Sussex Beef: Succulent slices of hand- curved beef served with crispy Yorkshire puddings, red wine gravy and a choice of horseradish cream or English mustard.

Baked Vegetarian Pithivier: Sautéed mushrooms, cranberries and seasoned spinach with hazelnuts topped with brie and encased in a puff pastry.

Pan- Roasted Salmon Supreme: A prime cut of skinless and boneless Salmon lightly roasted in lemon butter served with a parsley hollandaise sauce.

*All main courses are served with their appropriate fresh, seasonal vegetables.

Desserts

Christmas Pudding: A classic yuletide pudding served with brandy sauce.

Black forest Gateau: A "retro" chocolate sponge dessert flavoured with kirsch and decorated with cream, cherries and chocolate and served with clotted cream.

Festive Cheese and Biscuits: Vintage Somerset cheddar, Chopwell bishop stilton and pasteurised French brie, accompanied by quince paste, celery and crackers.

Mixed Ice Cream: Scoops of vanilla, strawberry and chocolate ice cream served with sugar curls and chocolate sauce.

Mince pies, coffee, mints and Christmas crackers are included in the price.

Fine wines selected and imported directly by the Wines' Team at Harveys of Lewes are on our Wine List, either by the glass or the bottle, and a scrumptious selection of traditional English and International dishes in the pub and restaurant.

Our main menu is seasonal and changes regularly with locally sourced produce. All our ingredients are also locally sourced where possible and our food is freshly prepared and cooked by Dad Stuart exactly to your requirements.

 



 


Facilities

 

One of the most popular features of the Royal Oak Barcombe is the Skittle Alley - which is almost unique in this part of Sussex - and it is available to hire for clubs, societies, businesses and groups seven days a week morning or evening.
